List of things which are usually not covered under a travel insurance plan

Exploring prohibited areas - The insurer is unlikely to provide you with compensation for any mishaps occurring while exploring territories forbidden by the Government of India.
Adventure sports - Travel insurance plans often do not cover risks attached included in adventure sports. If you are planning to try adventure sports on your trip, you must opt for specific insurance plans which cover such activities.
Certain companies might also have some medical conditions included in the exclusion list, which they do not cover.
However, the list of inclusions in a travel cover usually outweighs its exclusions.
