All you Need to Know About Different Types of Travel Insurance

Several NBFCs offer different types of insurance plans under the umbrella of travel insurance policy. Such plans include:

Trek cover – 

You can claim coverage of up to Rs. 1 Lakh if you are travelling within India and Rs. 1.5 Lakh if you are travelling overseas against a minimal annual premium of up to Rs. 699. Under such plans, you can enjoy financial assistance to manage expenses like hospitalisation costs, expenses due to loss of baggage or documents, financial help if you are stranded, etc. Additionally, you can block your debit or credit card via a single call to your NBFC in case you lose it during your trek.

Pilgrimage cover – 

For any financial losses during pilgrimage you can claim a substantial sum assured between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 1 Lakh against a minimum premium of Rs. 599. Furthermore, you can avail coverage of up to Rs. 3 Lakh for any accidents, loss of baggage, hospitalisations, cancellation of trips, etc.

Holiday cover – 

A sum assured of up to Rs. 3 Lakh can be availed against an annual premium of Rs. 699 as financial assistance for emergency travel and lodging, loss of baggage, cancellation of trip, etc.

Road trip cover –

You can avail travel insurance plans to avail emergency financial assistance during your road trip. These policies offer coverage for any unforeseen incidents such as accidents and loss essential documents, wallet or phone, mechanical or electrical breakdown of your car, etc. The sum assured provided under this plan can reach up to Rs. 3 Lakh against a nominal premium of up to Rs. 599.  

In addition to the above, there are other types of plans under such plans such as student travel insurance, domestic travel insurance, family travel insurance policy, etc.

To apply for such plans, you are required to fill an online application form on the official website of your preferred NBFC and submit the required documents. After the approval of your proposal form you can pay the amount towards your premium via online payment methods.
